According to Yahoo! Entertainment, the Prince and Princess of Wales traveled to Boston on Nov. 30 for Prince William’s second annual Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony, which takes place on Dec. 2. A few days later, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in the Big Apple where they will be honored by Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, the nonprofit named after the former Attorney General of the U.S. and brother of John F. Kennedy.
The Sussexes will be receiving the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope award at the gala on Dec. 6. The ceremony will also recognize NBA legend and civil rights icon Bill Russell (1934-2022) with a posthumous award and will feature Alec Baldwin as the emcee…..

There was a “Glow of Love” wrapped around the Aloft Hotel-Harlem on Nov. 17, as event producer Roz Nixon invited friends and family to celebrate the multi-faceted life of the late lyricist and singer Wayne Garfield, who passed away on Sept. 9, 2022.
With his music as a backdrop, the evening showcased Garfield’s achievements, from his early days as a member of the Voices of East Harlem to the many hit tunes he penned that were recorded by artists like Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Roy Ayers and Janet Jackson. Guests dined on delicious food from Jacob Restaurant, as well as signature specialties from Chef James Rosebud.
The band played Garfield’s legendary tunes which included “Glow of Love,” under the musical direction of Daryl Johnson. Notable attendees included Debbie Burrell from the original Broadway cast of “Dreamgirls,” and Black Spectrum Theatre founder Carl Clay, along with Wayne’s brother, comedian/actor Arthur Garfield.
The tribute was co-sponsored by City Council Member Kristin Richardson Jordan of the 9th District, along with the Jazz Foundation of America, and was topped off with champagne for all, provided by award-winning musician Roy Ayers…..
The French Heritage Society closed out their 40th Anniversary celebration with a Gilded Age themed gala on Nov. 17, honoring philanthropist Jean Shafiroff and chaired by Liz McDermott Barnes, CeCe Black, Michael Kovner, Jean Doyen de Montaillou, and Ann Van Ness.
Events chairman CeCe Black opened the ceremonies, followed by remarks from Board Chairman Elizabeth Stribling and President Denis de Kergorlay. Mrs. Stribling said, “I’m so happy to introduce my great friend, Jean Shafiroff. She is a marvelous board member of French Heritage Society and the loveliest person with a great heart. No one supports New York charities better that Jean!”
Shafiroff accepted her award — a statuesque trophy by Daum — dressed in a shimmering gold ball gown. The designer, Malan Breton, was at her table with international friends including Her Royal Highness Queen Diambi, Democratic Republic of Congo.
Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright presented Jean with a Congressional Record plaque, signed by Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney for her philanthropic and humanitarian work……
