Detectives are investigating an East Harlem shooting at a public housing complex on Tuesday morning that left a 37-year-old man dead.
Police said the homicide happened at about 2:38 a.m. on Oct. 25 inside a building within the Washington Houses complex at 230 East 102nd St.
Officers from the 23rd Precinct and NYPD PSA 5, in responding to a 911 call about the incident, found the unconscious victim inside a fourth-floor hallway with gunshot wounds to his head and chest.
EMS rushed him to Cornell Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have withheld the victim’s identity, pending family notification.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
