Detectives need the public’s help in tracking down the Harlem shooter who wounded an 18-year-old man as he rode his bike through the neighborhood earlier this year.
Police released on Wednesday morning an image of the suspect behind the April 21 shooting, which occurred at about 4:45 p.m. that day near the corner of 7th Avenue and West 139th Street.
According to law enforcement sources, the victim was riding his bicycle southbound along 7th Avenue when he suddenly heard shots and felt pain.
The victim turned back to see the suspect holding a firearm, police sources said. He then realized that he had been struck in the lower body.
The shooter, meanwhile, fled the scene in an unknown direction, authorities said.
Officers from the 32nd Precinct responded to the incident. EMS rushed the victim to Harlem Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
