A Lower East Side resident who came home to find his girlfriend with another man suffered more injury to insult when the other man slashed and robbed him, police reported.
Detectives are continuing to look for the home-wrecking brute behind the June 6 assault, which occurred at 7:10 p.m. on June 6 in the area of Delancey Street and Baruch Drive.
According to police, the 33-year-old male victim returned to his apartment to find the perpetrator hanging out with his girlfriend. That led to a verbal dispute between the two men, which quickly turned violent.
Law enforcement sources said the other man attacked the victim, punching him multiple times about the face. He then slashed the victim’s neck with a sharp object, then stole his keys and a Cartier watch.
Following the assault, cops said, the brute fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
Officers from the 7th Precinct responded to the attack. EMS rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
On June 22, the NYPD released a black-and-white security camera image of the suspect, who was seen wearing a white t-shirt and a Chicago White Sox baseball cap.
