Video shows a suspect throwing paint on a statue of George Floyd in Union Square Park over the weekend.
At 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 3, an unknown man was in the south plaza of Union Square Park when he approached the statue while riding a skateboard. As he rode past, the suspect threw gray paint on the face and base of the statue.
The suspect then fled the scene on his skateboard heading northbound on the west side of Union Square Park. The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident.

The suspect is described as a man with a light complexion and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a dark green jacket, a neon green t-shirt, black shorts, black and white sneakers and a green backpack.
