Subway shover in Queens who threw man onto tracks in random attack still at large

Detectives are looking for the subway shover in Queens who pushed a man onto the tracks for no apparent reason on Friday afternoon.

The NYPD released video footage of the assailant behind the random attack, which occurred at the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues station in Ridgewood, near the Brooklyn/Queens boundary, at about 2:40 p.m. on Oct. 21.

According to law enforcement sources, the perpetrator approached the 32-year-old victim on the L train platform, charged at him and shoved him onto the Manhattan-bound subway tracks. 

Police said there was no apparent provocation for the attack.

After shoving the victim onto the tracks, authorities said, the suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim, meanwhile, managed to avoid being struck by a train, cops said. He sustained minor physical injuries, including swelling and bruising to his face and shoulder, and minor lacerations to both hands. EMS took him to nearby Wyckoff Heights Medical Center for treatment.

The video that police released shows the perpetrator moments before charging at the victim, then hopping over a turnstile. He’s pictured wearing a black jacket over a yellow hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball cap with a white logo, a blue surgical mask, and black pants while carrying a gray backpack.
