Times Square subway station stabbing leaves man hospitalized, suspect in custody

Police have made an arrest in a Times Square subway station stabbing early on Saturday morning that left a 23-year-old man hospitalized, it was reported.

Law enforcement sources said the 23-year-old victim was injured during a brawl within a passageway near the 7 train entrance at the Times Square-42nd Street stop at about 2:25 a.m. on Oct. 29.

Five individuals involved in the dispute fled the scene a short time later, but police were able to apprehend one suspect, sources familiar with the case said. Charges against that individual are pending; police have not yet released his identity.

Officers from the Midtown South Precinct and NYPD Transit Bureau responded to the fight and found the 23-year-old victim stabbed in the torso and leg.

EMS rushed the young man to Bellevue Hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening, authorities said. 

Police are still seeking four other men involved in the melee who fled afterward in an unknown direction.
